Career Changes or Challenges?
You Have Found Your Collaborator To Get You To The Next Level
1) We will start with knowing what you want - identifying problems and goals
Join me in a conversation that makes imagining the future easier than you think it will be. You tell me what you want, and I will give you a summary that will help you better understand yourself and know how to communicate it to others. I help you be honest with yourself, free of judgment, and find the words so that you are confident in talking about what you want and what you care about when it comes to work. We will define success on your own terms, instead of what may be expected of you by others or your own past assumptions.
2) We will get real on your options and make a plan
With a strong foundation of future-focused big picture thinking, we will work together to determine your options for moving forward. Whether you don’t have a job, love your job, or something in between - a career strategy has the power to make every day a little easier, more motivating, and every decision more aligned with your success. We will talk through various scenarios and then narrow them down to the best options, always balancing the practical with the aspirational. Working with me gives you a new way to think about strategy planning as an ongoing process that is flexible, resilient to unexpected events, and will make you feel confident in your strengths and purpose.
3) Take action, stay motivated, be accountable
Take action and let’s work together to start to make changes - whether it be a better experience at your current job, getting a promotion, starting a business, or getting hired. I provide tangible support in the way of strategy and editing resume, cover letter, linkedin, and interview preparation; guidance on networking opportunities, research, and other forms of learning; and planning and practicing for upcoming difficult conversations, opportunities for professional growth including promotions and increased income. I prepare you with skills that you can use again throughout your career journey.

ABOUT ME
As a coach, I collaborate with you and guide you through a process so that you can move forward and make decisions grounded in your professional strengths and what matters to you most. I believe we all can have careers that come closer to getting us what we want - including purpose, motivation, healthy work settings, making an impact, financial stability, and good working relationships.
I have lived and worked in New York City for almost two decades, after growing up and starting my career in California, working in communications and event planning at arts organizations and then completing a PsyD, Doctorate of Clinical Psychology. While I was a psychologist in educational and health care settings, my interest turned to addressing broader systemic issues I noticed in my work. I moved forward to make a big change and worked in political campaigns and organizations. Without a plan (or a career coach!), I spent several years doing work I loved - including elections, advocacy, events organizing, and media. I enjoyed the changes and challenges, but the interesting work I was doing would have been enhanced and more sustainable if I had a process and support for connecting my work to my own long-term goals and strategy.
For the past six years, I have been a career coach working with clients to plan and implement careers aligned with their greatest opportunity for success and happiness. I set you up so you are ready to take on changes, challenges, and opportunities with less stress and from a place of strength.
My clients come from all types of backgrounds and industries - including technology, business, education, the arts, nonprofit, politics, and more. I am fascinated by what we can learn from each other across industries and I love to hear about what you are up to no matter what type of work you do or want to do next!
FAQs

After hearing a little about you and your goals, I will suggest a structure and frequency and we will make a plan together - while open to shifting as our work develops.
I often work with a client for 6-8 sessions total and plan our process around that plan. However, I charge per-session and find that this flexibility works well.
Sometimes, I do as few as one or two sessions with a client, long-term coaching with many more sessions, or my clients take a break and return as needed.

While there are similarities between therapy and coaching, I approach the two in very different ways. Coaching is:
>focused on the present and the future, only touching on the past to better understand who you are find solutions that will work in the future.
>working toward specific goals and growth in a work context. Often takes place over a limited numer of sessions, with meetings often less frequent than a therapy schedule.
>does not address diagnosis or serious mental health issues.Coaching works well alongside therapy, or for people who have already been in therapy (although not required).
In contrast to support that comes from a supervisor, colleague, or mentor, working with an outside coach such as myself provides you with help that is confidential and from someone who does not have their own stake in your job and career decisions. -
Each session includes a personalized follow-up email with a summary and next steps.
Collaborative emails and editing between-sessions are included with the cost of a session.Coaching sessions are usually 60 minutes and held over Zoom.
Additional materials including articles, guides, and worksheets.

My clients are at all stages of their career journey but no matter how far they have come, they are always interested in growing and changing. I have worked with everyone from recent graduates to senior leadership in corporate and nonprofit settings, to self-employed artists and consultants. Yes, it is! One of the reasons coaching is so valuable is that you are able to share openly about aspects of your work that you often have to keep within your place of work or inner circle. With coaching, you have a chance to get an outside perspective without compromising your professional obligations to hold onto sensitive information.
